Virginia "Genny" Blanchard Obituary (1954 - 2019)

Virginia "Genny" Patricia Madeline Blanchard Of Onondaga, MI passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 64. Genny was born on September 5, 1954 in Bay City, MI the daughter of Lee and Deloris Degg. She attended All Saints Central High School in Bay City, MI where she graduated class of 1972. Genny married Al Blanchard on May 21, 1977 and together they had 4 children. Genny moved with her family throughout the U.S. as Al's work took them from Indiana to Texas but eventually settled back in Michigan living in Onondaga for the past 35 years. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with her friends and family especially at Abies and the Keg Bar in Eaton Rapids. Genny was also a member of the Onondaga Sportsman Club and loved traveling to northern Michigan and Myrtle Beach, SC. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Missy Carpenter; brother, James Degg and sister, Gladys Degg. Surviving are her husband, Al Blanchard; daughters, Trina Brown, Amanda "Mandie" (Darrin) Smith; son, Dustin (Laisa) Blanchard; grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Matthew Brown, Olivia Brown, Tyler Taber, Dalton Smith, Machaela Blanchard; great grandchildren, Landon Brown, Gabriella Taber, Carter Taber, Milah Blanchard, Millie Blanchard, Oakleigh Hansen and numerous extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Skinner Funeral Homes, Eaton Rapids Chapel. The family will receive friends starting at noon.
