Thelma Olmsted Obituary (1930 - 2014)

Thelma Opal Olmsted Of Lansing, MI passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the age of 84. Thelma was born on April 16, 1930 to Chester and Gertrude (White) Putman in Cadillac, MI. She attended Tustin High School where she met and later married Elton Olmsted in 1952. Thelma went on to attend L.C.C. and spent some time working for Auto Owners Insurance, and retired from Ingham County Health Department as an Infectious Disease Clerk. She was a past member of Pennway Church of God, enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing card games, singing, dancing, and interior decorating. Thelma was a very generous and loving lady whom many called grandma and friend; her greatest joy was her family and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 7 siblings, Cora, Virginia, Russell, Kenneth, Edna, Thelma May, and Alva. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Frazine, Sylvia (Mike) Chemacki; grandchildren, Seth (Tonie) Chemacki, Jordan (Lindsey) Chemacki, Elton Chemacki, Steven Frazine, Tiffany Frazine; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Amelia, Miranda, Adelyn, Ruby; sister-in-law, Maxine (Jim) Dryden; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. The family will receive friends starting at noon.
