Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 74. Born March 6, 1947 to Carl (Joyce Coleman) in Lansing, Michigan. Sue was a member of South Lansing Christian Church for over 20 years. Her home was a safe haven where everyone felt loved and valued. She was a matriarch of extended family and her passion was to serve others. Sue hosted legendary Easter egg hunts and Thanksgiving gatherings that will be remembered by all. Her selfless heart and passion to serve others will be her legacy that will live on forever. Preceding her in death were her husband, Larry Lucas; grandson, Chris Knight Jr.; sisters, Mary Clinton, Cindy Velez; brother, Richard Gill and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Karie (Chris) Richardson, William (Carrie) Lucas, Robert Lucas (FM Heather Mcclain) ; grandchildren, Vanessa (Tony) Lowry, Vincent LaRay "VJ" Hall, Ryder (Amanda) Lucas, Kaylah Lucas, Adriana Lucas, Jacob (Maranda) Lucas, Andrew Graham; great grandchildren, Janay Smith, Joelle Smith, Jalisa Smith, Janessa Smith, Jayla Smith, James William De Vore, Athena Ross, Nolan Lucas, Emersyn Lucas; Siblings; Raymond (Martha) Gill, Rene Gill, Charles Gill, Ron (Elaine) Maxwell; sisters, Melanie Miller, Mickey Baccus as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring her life and her husband, Larry's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at South Lansing Christian Church.
