Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 12, 2026 at the age of 30. Born October 28, 1995 to Michael Powers and Lori Shiel in Battle Creek, Michigan. Sierra, who was affectionately known as “Sissy” or “Gingy” graduated form Okemos High School class of 2014. Sierra worked for various businesses in the Lansing area including Walmart, Arby’s, Meijer and Panera. She was very active, enjoying walks and being outside in nature. She was very giving, friendly and kind, always willing to help someone in need. Sierra was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who remember her. Preceding her in death were her step-father, Matthew Permoda; grandparents, Jeri Permoda, and Linda Jacox-Powers.

Surviving are her mother, Lori Permoda; father, Michael (Joyce) Powers; brothers, Cody Shiel, Michael (Liberty) Powers II; step-brothers, Christopher (Dorothy) Owen, Samuel Owen; nieces, Aiden-Marie Schulz, Jamie Smith, Lucy Shiel as well as many extended family and friends.
