Robert Thomas "Bob" Hibner Obituary (1953 - 2017)

Robert Thomas "Bob" Hibner Okemos, MI Age 63, died on June 18, 2017. Bob was an employee of the IPF Department within the Power Plant at Michigan State University, as a Boiler Operator. Bob was very passionate about his work and valued his coworkers very much. He was born on October 18, 1953 in Alpena, Michigan to Vern and Hazel Hibner (Anderson), both preceded him in death. Bob attended Alpena Public Schools and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1971 and began work at the Abitibi plant in Alpena in manufacturing and the power plant. After 35 years he resigned and moved to Okemos to take a position with MSU. Bob loved his children and grandchildren very much and also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. Bob is survived by three brothers, Dale of San Antonio, TX, Timothy of New Haven and Andrew of Waterford; three children, Sara (Adam) Kamyszek of Alpena, Derek (Kierstyn) Hibner of Lansing, Krista Hibner of Saginaw and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends starting at 9:30 am on Saturday for visitation.
