Robert Crawford

Passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the age of 99. Born May 23, 1923 to Harry and Luella Crawford in Peoria, Illinois. Bob honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII as a medic. Following his honorable discharge, he went on to work for Oldsmobile. His first job was delivering parts to the assembly line and later he became a fork lift driver. His last job for the company was delivering medial supplies between the different plants. Bob retired from Oldsmobile after 32 years. He enjoyed playing all different sports when he was growing up and excelled at all of them. After marrying the love of his life, Bessie Crawford, on November 25, 1942 it was suggested that he limit his extra curriculars so he settled for playing golf in the summer and bowling in the winter. Bob was a beloved man that will be dearly missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his wife of 65 years, Bessie Crawford; son, Brian Crawford; brothers, Richard and James as well his parents.
Surviving is his son, Richard Crawford; grandchildren, Matthew Crawford, Melissa Crawford; great grandson, Steven as well as many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Skinner Funeral Home Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Crawford family would like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who gave such excellent care to Robert throughout the years.
