Patrick Francis Dawson
Of Okemos, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the age of 91. Patrick was born on March 10, 1928 in Urbana, Ohio the son of James and Dorothy Dawson. Patrick began his career as a tool & die apprentice at Urbana Tool & Die Co. in Urbana Ohio. After serving in the Navy, he worked for General Motors Ternstedt Division of Fisher Body as a lead design engineer. From there, he accepted a position as the general manager of Alignment Engineering in Warren, Michigan. After leaving Alignment, Patrick opened his own prototype engineering company, known as PD Machine & Tool, which was in business from 1974 to 1978 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He eventually retired as the national sales manager for Tru-Cut Die & Engineering. Patrick was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes and square dancing. Preceding him in death were his grandson, Westley Dawson; and his parents.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 71 years, Margaret; children, Patrick M. (Sue) Dawson, Timothy P. (Deb) Dawson, Kathleen Dawson (Rod Kosmick), Thomas P. (Pam) Dawson, James E. (Anita) Dawson and Carol Dawson; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
