Nikolaos Pehlivanoglou Obituary (1946 - 2020)

Nikolaos A. Pehlivanoglou Lansing Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 74. Born January 9, 1946 to Apostolos and Lemonya (Akazma) Pehlivanoglu in Istanbul, Turkey. Nick served in the Turkish Army before getting married and moving to Michigan. Nick worked for Harry's Bar and Grill in Lansing and later also got a job with General Motors where he would retire. Nick was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox of Lansing for many years. He enjoyed fishing as well as coaching and refereeing soccer. Nick coached the Lansing Everett girls' soccer team and officiated numerous games in the Lansing area. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Pehlivanoglou; children, Kristina (Anthony) Sheerin, John (Trinidad) Pehlivanoglu, Nick (Kacie) Pehlivanoglu; grandchildren, Isaiah Sheerin, Andreas Sheerin, Athena Sheerin, Xavier Sheerin, Elijah Sheerin, Juan Morales, Niko Pehlivanoglu, Lily Pehlivanoglu, Christian Pehlivanoglu, Josie Pehlivanoglu; brother, George Pehlivanoglu as well as many extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at First Assembly of God of Greater Lansing. Family will receive friends for visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
