Nicholas R. James
Age 76 of Eaton Rapids died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at a Lansing hospital. Born June 11, 1929 in Lansing, the son of Frank and Mae (Sanderlin) James. Mr. James retired from Lindberg Heat Treating Plant in Lansing after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids, and formerly worked 8 years for Long Bean and Grain Co. in Eaton Rapids and served 15 years as a Volunteer Fireman for the City of Eaton Rapids. Mr. James was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate, class of 1949 and after retirement enjoyed his woodworking. Preceding him in death were his father, Frank James; step-father, Patrick Fitzgerald; brother, Harolw James; and sister, Delores James.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ilamae (Raines) James; 3 daughters, and 2 sons, Susan (Larry) West, Julia (Tim) Seger, Nicholas (Annette) James Jr., John (Sandy) James and Melissa (Bob) Leitch; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; mother, Mae Fitzgerald; sister, Joyce McEvoy; brother, Melvin James and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Fr. Ben Constantine, officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Dimondale. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M..
