Passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at the age of 59. Born March 30, 1967 to Willard and Sharon (Collins) Hawkins in Flint, Michigan. Mike was a graduate of Haslett High School class of 1985. He went on to work for Michigan State University in the custodial department. Mike was a very handy man and was always willing to assist friends and family in need. He was very knowledgeable and excellent at trivia. Mike was also a big football fan, and he especially liked watching his beloved Michigan Wolverines and Pittsburg Steelers. Most of all he was a family man, and he especially loved to spoil his grandchildren. Mike will forever be remembered for being very generous and humble and with great integrity. Loved by many, he will be dearly missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings, Londa Hawkins, Dave Hawkins; nephew, Tommy Hawkins, and great niece, Lilly.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Cindy Hawkins; step-children, Miranda (Kirk Messenger) Sifuentes, Manuel (Laporsha) Sifuentes; grandchildren, Maribel, Natalia, Yndalecio, Santino, Elonzio, Aurora; great grandchildren, Isabella, Luciano, Valentino, Moneyiah, Zaya, Neva, Yndalecio III; sisters-in-law, Rosa Elia, Rosa Linda, Veronica, Loretta, Sara, Amanda; brother-in-law, Ruben Luna; good friend and brother-in-law, Ruben Rodriguez; sister, Rhonda Hanes; brother, Bobby Hawkins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Skinner Funeral Home, 101 W. Jolly Rd. Lansing, MI 48910. Family will receive friends for visitation starting at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
