Melissa Ann Woodworth-Rueckert
Grand Ledge, Michigan
Known fondly as Missy, was a beacon of light in our lives and sadly passed away on February 28, 2025 at the age of 58. Born in Lansing, Michigan on July 8, 1966, Missy lived her life with a heart full of compassion, a sense of humor that could brighten the cloudiest of days, and a spirit that was truly uncontainable. She carried these qualities throughout her life in Lansing, Michigan, where she was well-known and deeply loved.
Missy was a spirited individual who found joy in the simplest of things. Her laughter was infectious, and she could turn a mundane game of Bingo into an event of high suspense and hilarity. As the saying goes, "Life is better when you're laughing," and anyone who spent time with Missy can attest that laughter was never in short supply. Her loving nature made her a favorite amongst her family and friends, and her presence was enough to light up any room.
She is survived by her son, Mark Rueckert, and her niece, Heather Woodworth, who will continue to honor Melissa's legacy by living their lives with the same compassion, humor, and spirit that she did. Missy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Woodworth, and her brother, Scott Woodworth. They are undoubtedly welcoming her with open arms and roaring laughter.
Visitation for Missy will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10am – 12pm at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Services will begin at Noon followed by interment to Bell Oak Cemetery in Locke Township. Together, let's remember and celebrate the remarkable, funny, loving, and spirited woman we were lucky to know. Her laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
