Mattie Jean Rembert Obituary (1947 - 2020)

Mattie Jean Rembert, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the age of 73. Mattie was born September 1947 to George and Geneva (Jones) Rembert in Demopolis, Alabama. Mattie was baptized in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 1, 1968. After moving to Lansing in 1983, she faithfully attended the North Lansing Congregation, and then the West Lansing Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mattie enjoyed teaching people about the Bible and spending time with family and friends. Mattie was an excellent cook and loved cooking, reading, and shopping. She was an honest woman with integrity and was humble and generous. Mattie will be dearly missed by all who remember her. Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Lucille Rembert Walker, Tina Rembert; brothers, John Henry and Frank James Rembert. Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Shirnell) Rembert Sr., Derrick Moody, Bernadette Sherice Russell, Stacy (Chris) McDavis, Markus Moody; grandchildren, Angel Tanner, Branson (Destiny) Brewer, Kenneth (Jessica) Rembert Jr., Devonte Moody, Cameron Davon Brewer, Alexandria Moody, Micah Rembert, Ceira Moody, Kyleigh McDavis, Brooke McDavis, Sintarra (Reginald) Fennell, Nigel (Nikki) Fennell; great grandchild, Avery Davon Brewer; sister, Georgia Mae Rembert; brothers, Robert Lee (Pandora) Rembert, Andre (JaMerle) Rembert as well as many extended family and friends. She will be especially be missed by her loyal and dedicated friends, Linda Wright and Katie Dean. A Zoom memorial service will be held at a later date.
