Passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at age 89. Born April 20, 1931 to Pete and Grace (Valdez) Martinez in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mary worked her way through college as a nurse's aide and respiratory therapist, she then went on to become a Registered Nurse where she worked for 50 years. After her retirement she continued working as a Senior Companion and would do so up to the age of 85. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting the casinos. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings. Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who remember her. Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul Gurley; son, Danny Paul Gurley; Daughter, Nancy Leah (Steve) Tormen; sons-in-law, John Cox, Joe Hathaway and granddaughter, Nikki.
Surviving are her daughters, Brenda (Howie Prehn) Hathaway, Peggy (Milo) Schafer, Barbie Cox, Paulette (Jerry) Sherman, Connie Gurley; grandchildren, Lori, Michelle, Eric, Amber, Amanda, Greg, Bryan, Vanessa, Sydney, Alle, Andrew; great grandchildren, Alexis, Montrevous, Patricia, Joe, Mariah, Selina, Ana, Calvin, Jordan, Giavonna, Alexzander, Jayden, Jocelyn, Felix, Trevor, Scarlett, Adair, Margaux, Adelyn, Isabella, Jessica, Rachel; great-great grandchildren, Joe, Wednesday; brother, Carlos (Yolanda) Martinez as well as many extended family and friends.
