Passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the age of 81. Born July 1, 1935 to Russell E. and Mildred L. (Longley) Portt in Lansing, Michigan. Marlene graduated from Eastern High School. She worked as an Executive Secretary for AIS Equipment in Lansing where she later retired. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wilson Portt.

Surviving are her husband, Gunnar Peterson; brother, Bill (Alice) Portt; as well as many sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Grand Ledge Opera House, 121 S. Bridge Street, Grand Ledge, MI with visitation one hour prior.
