Marcos Antonio Barrera Obituary (1967 - 2011)

Marcos Antonio Barrera Passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the age of 43 surrounded by his family. Marcos was born September 11, 1967 to Guadalupe and Maria Barrera in Leon, Mexico. He moved to Lansing in the early 70's and was an Eastern High School graduate class of 1986. Marcos enjoyed Nascar, working on cars, taking camping trips up north with his family, and walking the Mackinac Bridge. Marcos worked for Layne Northern before starting his own lawn care business. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Antonio Magana, Jose Barrera and Godfather; Hector Hernandez. Marcos is survived by his parents, wife of 20 years; Tammy Barrera, children; Alejandro, Marcos, Antonio, and Lydia grandson; Armando, brother Mauricio (Dara) Barrera, sister Miriam (Blake) Bridwell, Grandparents; Sara Magana, Maria De Jesus Barrera, 2 nieces and 4 nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 11:00 AM from Chapel in the Pines Funeral Home in Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
