Passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the age of 83. Born January 21, 1938 to Pedro and Francisca (Villarreal) Garcia in Alice, Texas. Lydia retired from Michigan State University where she worked in housekeeping. Raising her fourteen children, Lydia embraced the role as homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, her pets, and loved cooking for her entire family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be dearly missed by all who remember her. Preceding her in death were her son, Armando Garza Sr.; daughter, Ermelinda Lopez; brothers, Jose Villarreal, Moises (Maria) Garcia; sister, Maria Cavazo as well as her parents.
Surviving are her children, Lamar (Delmiro) Silva, Felipe G. (Corinna) Garza, Antonio Garza, Ernesto (Dalia) Garza, Freddie G. (Julie) Garza, Esmeralda Garza, Valdemar (Carol) Garza, Eliza (Sammy) Camacho, James Garza, James Garza Jr., Graciella M. Garza, Zenaida Garza; 35 grandchildren; 93 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Teresa Martinez, Adonias Garcia, Gloria (Domingo) Nunez; daughter-in-law, Laura Garza as well as many nieces and nephews.
