Lucille Margret Stimer
Of Eaton Rapids, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 98. Lucy was born in New Bavaria, Ohio, the youngest of eleven children born to Francis and Theresia (Klingshirn) Westrick. She was raised in Toledo, where she attended Holgate High School and graduated with the class of 1946. Following high school, Lucy attended St. Vincent School of Nursing, graduating in 1949.
In 1949, Lucy married Keith Stimer, and together they made their home in Eaton Rapids. She dedicated her career to nursing, working at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Eaton Rapids Stimson Hospital, and the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids. She spent the majority of her career at what was then known as Eaton Rapids Community Hospital, retiring in 1987. Lucy found great joy in her work and treasured the many lasting relationships and friendships she formed throughout her career. After retiring, Lucy and her husband, Keith, enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, where they made many happy memories together and enjoyed the warmth and sunshine of the Florida winters.
Lucy’s faith in Jesus Christ was at the heart of her life. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church for many years, where her faith and love for the Lord were an important part of who she was.
