Lillian Ruth Cady (1922-2015)
Lillian passed away peacefully at Country Acres Adult Care Home where she had been a resident for four years. She was the daughter of William and Ruth Monroe of Vestaburg, MI. An alumnus of Vestaburg High School, even in her later years, she fondly remembered her time on the girls basketball team. A dedicated homemaker, she took great pride in keeping everything spotless. She married Donald Cady in 1941. Lillian provided domestic house care for a number of Eaton Rapids families, including the George Miller family of Millers Dairy and Ice Cream. She loved her soap operas, and was always ready for the occasional casino foray.
Lillian is survived by her step daughters, Anita Gordos, Sandy (Bill) Frasher, Mary Glassbrook, Connie Corbin, and Jackie (Burt) Warner; son-in-law's, Richard (Judy) Smith, and Nick Kostopoulos; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. She is also survived by her sisters, Coralyn Van Warmer, Gerry Leslie, Shirley Cannon; brother, Clifford Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, DonaldCady; daughters, Shirley Smith, Linda Kostopoulos; step son, Donald Cady Jr.; sisters, Doris Dalyrymple, Kathy Spencer, Opal Reed; brothers, Elson, Addison, and Clell Monroe.
She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids, MI. For online condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com
