Leandro Garza-Lopez Obituary (1934 - 2023)

Leandro "Lee" Garza Lopez Lansing Passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the age of 89. Born February 27, 1934 to Emilio Lopez and Agapita Garza in Laredo, Texas. Lee honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. When he returned home he went to work for General Motors where he would later retire from Plant 3 as an inspector. Lee loved baseball and enjoyed playing throughout his youth all over the United States including the Latin American Leagues in Lansing. He also enjoyed bowling and playing the guitar in his band. Lee was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his wife, Virginia Lopez; a sister, four brothers and his parents. Surviving are his children, Michael "Lee" (Victoria) Lopez, David Lopez, Lisa Lopez-Cervantes; 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; sisters, Graciela Galindo, Nina Thigpen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Skinner Funeral Home Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service.
