Larry Michael Peterson
Bath, Michigan

Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the age of 73. Born January 7, 1953 to Harold and Gladys (Futch) Peterson in Lansing, Michigan. He was a 1971 graduate of Bedford Highschool in Temperance, Michigan. Larry was a teacher, a fixer, a listener, a storyteller, and a friend. Smart and endlessly curious, generously shared his knowledge and consistently made time to help family, friends, and neighbors. His intelligence was matched by his kindness, loyalty, and genuine love for those around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and a talent for making ordinary moments unforgettable. Larry enjoyed gift-giving, sometimes for no particular occasion, with the gift sometimes being equally unexpected, often either incredibly thoughtful or incredibly silly/funny. Conversely, he was always hard to think of gifts for, because he seemed to already have every tool you could think of.

Larry was a bit of a jack of all trades, with a focus on repairing and fixing things, especially involving cars and electronics. More often than not if he was not aware of how to repair something, he was quite good at doing the research to teach himself how to do it.

Although he went to Michigan State University and Lansing Community College for a degree in Computer Science, Larry was a printing professional through-and-through. He was an early adopter of electronic prepress technology and was well known for his expertise. He worked for Mox Color Printing with his dear friend, former roommate and college fraternity brother Mark Mox. With Mark, he moved on to work at the union printing company Data Graphics and later at Job Shop Printers until his retirement in 2021.

He enjoyed fishing, vintage firearms, bargain-hunting, thrifting, Mexican food, perfecting his baked bean recipe he would make for the holidays, and desserts. Larry belonged to the Lansing Muzzle Loading Gun Club helping the club in various capacities including the club newsletter. Larry was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Scott Peterson, David Peterson; as well as his parents.

Surviving is his son, Michael Peterson; sister, Kim (Terry) Masserant; as well as many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Granger Meadows Park in Lansing. To share memories and condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com
