Kristina Rae Smith Obituary (1981

"Memories of you fill my mind like thousands of bright stars in the sky." Billy and Cheri Lee were blessed by the birth of their firstborn, a daughter - Kristina Rae, on September 28, 1981. Even though Billy was hoping for a boy, Kristina stole his heart and was the joy of her parents world.Kristina's first word was "star" and her favorite color was pink. Her favorite candy was Almond Joy. She was soon given two sisters, Alicia Estelle and Jessica Ann. They were faithful to their big sister to the end. Her parents were also with her every step of the way and her Mom was especially attentive to her daughter's needs and took extra care to see that Kristina had what she needed. Kristina made many decisions in life, the most important becoming a child of God. This would prove to be her Rock, which sustained her during her illness. The next most important decision was when she became "Mrs. Kristina Smith". Kristina married her "Honey Bunny", Jacob, on January 19, 2007. Kristina and Jake met several years earlier and according to Jake, "It was good from there." Kristina would refer to Jake as "the best husband in the world" and she was able to rely on him for support and strength during her illness. Kristina loved her In-Laws, Roma and John. And while Kristina never had brothers, through this union, she inherited three; Quinse, John Jr. (aka Bug) and Phillip. Kristina and Jake were blessed with three beautiful boys; Jacob, Jaden and their miracle baby Tatum. These are the boys that Billy and Cheri never had. Kristina was a wonderful Mother and impacted them with a love that will last forever. Her children will surely rise up and call her blessed. Kristina adored her 2 nephews and 6 nieces. Kristina also shared a very special bond with her cousins all of whom have special memories and stories) and other family members. Kristina has made countless friends throughout her life and will always be remembered by her bright smile and beautiful blue eyes. Kristina started breathing Heavenly air at 8:45 p.m. on September 3, 2011. She was given a homecoming Celebration, hosted by her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was greeted with open arms by her Grandma Connie, Grandpa Bill and her Aunt Karla, to name just a few. The guest list for her Celebration is long and extends an open invitation to you. Some of the very last words Kristina spoke were done out of care and concern for those of us she was leaving behind. They were, "Are you saved?" and "Are you sure?" Please take Kristina's invitation to join her in her new Home and accept her Saviour as your own. While her earthly life is done, don't believe for a second she's dead. She is more alive than she's ever been! And while her time was short, remember this: "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count.
