Joy Louise VanBuskirk Obituary (1933 - 2019)

Joy Louise VanBuskirk DeWitt Passed away at home on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. Born June 6, 1933 to Leslie and Edith (Gage) VanBuskirk in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Joy was the owner/ operator of Joy's Ceramics in Lansing. She belonged to the Liederkranz Club, the Red Hatters Society and years ago was a member of the Capital Area Ceramic Association. She enjoyed all types of art including painting, crafts, ceramics and flower arranging. Joy also liked camping, going to the movies and shopping. She was a people person and liked entertaining family and friends. Most of all she loved her family and all of the time she was able to spend with them. Preceding her in death were her granddaughter, Hollie Searles, sister, Rita Halstedt and her parents. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, John "Jack" VanBuskirk; daughters, Linda (Bill) Morris, Lori Bell; son, John (Kelly) VanBuskirk; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
