Jeri Permoda Obituary (1958 - 2025)

Jeri Lynn Permoda Lansing, Michigan Passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the age of 67. Born on February 12, 1958 to William and Shirley (Hoffmeyer) Duncan in Lansing, Michigan. Jeri Honorably served in the United States Army. Following her discharge from the service she moved to Detroit where she lived briefly before meeting and marrying Steve Permoda on February 6, 1982. Together they started their life and raised a family in Lansing. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she radiated warmth and kindness that touched everyone around her. Jeri was known for her unwavering loyalty and dedication and had a heart that knew no boundaries. Known for her motherly nature that extended beyond her immediate family, Jeri became a "second mother" to many neighborhood children and friends of her own children. Jeri had a colorful palette of hobbies, which included clowning under the name Krazy Dazy. Her clowning antics were so delightful that they led her to two Easter Egg Roll events at the White House. Additionally, she had a passion for crafting, with a special fondness for crocheting. She was an amazing human being who created magic in every moment, turning ordinary days into extraordinary memories. Her vibrant personality, coupled with her gift of gab, painted a beautiful canvas of human connection. She possessed an incredible memory for anyone she had ever met, making each person feel truly special. Jeri lived a life full of love, generosity, and dedication, and she will be missed dearly by all who were privileged to have known her. She is survived by her husband, Steve Permoda; sons, Brice Duncan, Jeffry Permoda, Jake (Alyssa) Permoda, Benjamin (Rachel) Permoda; daughter-in-law, Lori Permoda; grandchildren, Douglas Duncan, Camden Duncan, Isabella Permoda, Emily Permoda, Cody Shiel, Michael Powers, Sierra Powers with granddaughter, Eloise Permoda on the way. Jeri is also survived by her siblings and many extended bonus children that she loved and helped raise. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, William Duncan and Shirley Maybee, and her son, Matthew Permoda.
