Jeffery R-Thomas Cripe

Of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the age of 42. Jeff was born on November 17, 1981, the son of John Cripe and Debbie (Morgan) Scarbro. He was raised in Eaton Rapids where he attended high school as part of the class of 2000.

Jeff started his professional career in construction where he excelled as a roofer and became very skilled in his craft. He later delved into the growing industry, taking great pride and fulfillment in cultivating his crops.

Jeff had a profound love for the outdoors, finding solace in activities such as fishing, kayaking, and rock hunting along the shores of various lakes across the state. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved the Michigan Wolverines. Jeff was an avid history buff and passionate about politics.

He cherished moments with his wife, Melissa, often enjoying scenic drives along country roads to admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape. A true aficionado of music, Jeff found joy in exploring various genres and relished attending concerts whenever possible.

Above all, Jeff will be remembered as a caring father, husband, and his fierce loyalty as a friend, brother, and son. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories cherished by all who knew him.

Jeff is survived by his son, Brandon Cripe; wife, Melissa Cripe; mother, Debbie Scarbro; special son, Lukus Zarr; brothers, Jeremiah Cripe, and John Cripe II; sisters, Jasmine (Andy) Emerick, Morgan Scarbro, Jill (Alex) Hisler, Janell (Phil) West, and Janie (Justin) Gallimore; mother-in-law, Marla Dennany; father-in-law, John (Dawn) Obuchowski; sisters-in-law, Kristine Obuchowski and Kayla Dennany; brother-in-law, Daniel Obuchowski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, John Cripe, stepfathers, Lawrence Scarbro, Gary Martin, sister-in-law, Kaitlyn Obuchowski, and close friends, Chris Krawczyk, and Kenneth Mishler.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Skinner Funeral Home to assist with Jeff's final expenses.
