Glen Steward

Glen Miles “Junior” Steward passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on November 11, 1939, in Athens Township, Michigan. Glen was raised in Springport, where he attended school and made his lifelong home.
From a young age, Glen worked on the family farm, a calling he continued with dedication until his retirement in 2004. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his passion. He was a devoted antique tractor collector and enthusiast.
Glen competed in tractor pulls and plowing competitions throughout the United States and Canada, earning numerous awards and accolades. One of the highlights of his remarkable career was competing in the World Championship in the Netherlands in 1963. His accomplishments were widely recognized, including an honor from the Vice President of the United States.
No services will be held. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Carolyn Steward, at Springport Cemetery.
