George Henry Long

Age 90, of Eaton Rapids died Monday, November 28, 2005 at his residence. Born August 24, 1915 in Eaton Rapids the son of Clarence and Nellie (Goff) Long. Mr. Long was a retired employee with 31 years of service with the Dana Corp. in Lansing. George was a member of the First Congregational Church in Eaton Rapids, a member of the Eagles Lodge #3563 of Holt, Moose Lodge #288 of Lansing and a member of the Farmers Hall of Fame of Delton. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathlyn Bennett and brothers; Leon and Seymour.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Beatrice; 3 children; Pat (Jerry) Slentz, Vic Long, and Dean (Shug) Long; son-in-law, Gary Bennett, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1st at 1:30 pm from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive freinds at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to either the First Congregational Church or the Eaton Rapids Senior Center in memory of George H. Long.
