Doris Jean Coolidge, 76, of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2024. Born on September 16, 1947, in Lansing, MI, Doris was the daughter of Joseph and Angela (Cook) Coonrod. She grew up in Lansing and graduated from Gabriels High School in 1965. Pursuing her passion for nursing, Doris attended St. Lawrence School of Nursing, ultimately working as a registered nurse at Lansing General and later for Dr. Gilroy, where she dedicated the majority of her career before retiring in the early 2000s.
In her leisure time, Doris enjoyed solving puzzles, cross stitching, playing euchre with her club, and spending cherished moments at her family cabin on Bailey Lake. She was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Mason, known for her generous spirit and immense love for her family. Doris found great joy in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their various events, and creating lasting memories with them.
Doris is lovingly remembered by her children, Amy (Max) Riley, Laura (Mike) Roman, Ken (Lisa) McCaleb, Robert (Lindi) McCaleb, Joan Coolidge, Laura (David) Barrett, Michael (Mary Ann) Coolidge, and Steve (Susan) Coolidge; her 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (John) Abel and Barb Wheeler; brothers, Joe (Linda) Coonrod and Bernie (Lois) Coonrod; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rick Coolidge, and her son Richard McCaleb.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church in Mason, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
