Passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at age 94. Born March 28, 1921 to Roy and Ruby Lawrence in Charlotte, Michigan. Jim honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII where he was discharged as Petty officer, second class. He went on to work for Barker Fowler Electric as a master electrician and later retired in 1984. Jim was a member of the I.B.E.W. and the V.F.W. Post 701. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pranks on people. Preceding him in death were his wife, Alma; sisters, Millery, Ila Mae, Alice an infant brother and his parents.
Surviving are his daughter, Jamie (Gaylen) Bishop; granddaughters, Heather Bishop, Deana Lawrence; great grandson, Seth Lawrence as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
