Carol Mosher, age 82, passed away October 5, 2026, with family by her side.
Born Carolyn Sue Jones, June 15, 1944 to Lassie Jones. She graduated from Rickman High School and subsequently moved to Lansing, Michigan, where she met her husband, Jim Mosher. Carol spent her years as a housewife and mother, babysitting for neighborhood children when her son was young. After Jim retired, they enjoyed packing their conversion van to the brim and traveling to Tennessee to visit her family.
Carol and Jim’s house was a symbol of quiet consistency for many. Not much changed over the years; furniture and decorations still exactly where it was as decades passed. Clean as a whistle and everything was just-so. Daily routines of visitors, Sam’s Club, and yard work were honed to a science. Anyone that knew Carol knew she was never without a cup of coffee, even on the warmest days.
What Carol lacked in stature, she made up for in strength, resilience, and feistiness. She was the strongest woman that those in her life ever knew. She could work from dawn until dusk, out-working men in their prime. She was a Clydesdale with a perm and a southern accent. Unfortunately, for many years Carol suffered from chronic health conditions including cancer and lupus. She did not let that slow her down, battling into remission and pushing through flare-ups. Toward the end of her life, Carol suffered from dementia, but fought to her last days for her independence. She was a woman who could not be slowed down.
Carol is remembered by those closest to her by her love of gardening, which was reflected in the incredible, sprawling flower beds she spent all day in. She is remembered sitting at the kitchen table, sipping a cup of coffee with 'The Price Is Right' on in the background.
Carol is survived by her son, Jim Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 1 sibling; and several great-grandchildren. She is now reunited with Jim, her mother Lassie, and her brothers and sisters, who preceded her in death.
