Passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the age of 84. Arleen was born on November 1, 1929 to Cyril and Climena (Strang) Steele in Lansing, MI. She was a lifelong resident of Eaton Rapids. Arleen enjoyed spending time at the casino playing bingo, and watching her soaps and Tigers baseball. Arleen worked for Hyatt Eggs, Eaton Stamping, and retired from the Green Bay Foods pickle factory in Eaton Rapids. She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Clarke Sr.; son, Freddie Clarke Jr.; son-in-law, Robert Lightner Jr. and her parents; brothers, Basel, Bill, Harold, and Bob Steele; sister, Viola Peck.
Surviving are her daughters, Ruth Ann (Ray) Noble, Cathy (Bob) Cantine, Peggy Lightner; grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Bradfield, Angela (Keith) Hultberg, Kari Blumenthal, Samantha (Dan) McMann, Daniel Lightner; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, John Steele; sister, Marion Slusser; sister-in-laws, Mary (Squeak) Steele, Reva Steele; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel with visitation from 5-8 pm on Wednesday.
