Ardeth M. Carpenter Obituary (1925 - 2011)

Age 85 died Monday, March 7, 2011 at her residence following a terminal illness with her family by her bedside. Born October 15, 1925 in Lansing, the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Railer) Hammond. Ardeth was an Eastern High School graduate, class of 1943. She retired from the corporate office at General Motors, Oldsmobile Division in Lansing. She was a member of the Eaton Rapids Senior Center and had played piano for many of the area centers. Proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Hammond and sister, Audrey Meddaugh. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Neil "Nick"; 4 children, Bob (Debbie) Carpenter of Eaton Rapids, Nancy (Chris) Musgrove of Tennessee, Randy (Sue) Carpenter of Charlotte and Rick (Kathy) Carpenter of Eaton Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Tim Morrow, Angie (Jeremy) Bailey, Travis and Lane Carpenter and Justin Carpenter; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Muhlitner of Lansing and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held of Saturday, March 12 at 11:00 AM from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Pastor Robin Crouch, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
