Kristine Loeffler Obituary (1940 - 2023)

Kristine Ann Loeffler, 82 of Lansing passed away on January 5, 2023. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 20, 1940,to Larry and Cleone (Anderson) Titmus. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1958 and took classes at Michigan State University before going to work for the State of Michigan. She would later retire from Lansing Community College where she had worked for many years in the Cashier's office. Kristine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years John D. Loeffler whom she married in May of 1963; her parents Larry and Cleone Titmus; her sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Peter Cantine; and her son-in-law Terry Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Loeffler Jones and Lisa (Brent) Collins; granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah Jones, Camryn and Emma Drake, and Sage Collins; sister, Nancy Titmus; niece, Stephanie (Aaron) Herrbach; and great nephew and niece Nicholas and Natalie Herrbach. Kris had many roles in life but the one she loved the most was of grandma. She adored her five beautiful granddaughters and she spent so much time with them playing, baking and crafting. She loved attending all their school functions and was always ready to babysit. Family was so important to her and she loved family get-togethers and holidays with all the cousins that she cherished so much. She never turned down a day of shopping and crafting with her sisters and she always looked forward to spending as much time as possible at the family cottage on Morrison Lake. Camping trips up to the U.P. every year with family and great friends were so special to her. Along with her great love for animals, she was a multi-talented crafter and was always making something to give to someone. She knitted and crocheted beautiful blankets and hats and scarves, she also made beaded jewelry and personalized cards. Kris was a caregiver to all those around her. She always made sure everyone was taken care of before herself. She always jumped right in to help others in any circumstance. She volunteered countless hours with St. Lawrence hospital, her church, Pilgrim United Church of Christ, DeWitt VFW post 671, and Gunnisonville Meadows. Her love and dedication to all those around her was evident in everything she did. She touched so many lives and was loved by so many. She will be so greatly missed.
